Background

Alteryx provides a suite of products, including their new offering Alteryx Analytics Cloud. They are generally known for it’s on prem products but knew they needed to transition. Their recent acquisition of Trifacta set them on a path to do just that.

Alteryx has a suite of products called the Analytics Cloud. Managing licenses for all of their products is done manually through backend processes that don’t allow for much transparency.

The Problem

We did a series of user interviews, across all of our user types, and one user said it best:

Working as an admin, tracking down licenses can be a difficult and manual process. I want all of my licensing in one place in order to reduce complexity and improve efficiency.
— Research Participant

Research

The admin project was initiated due to the need for efficient user management on the workspace level. Working with product management, I helped define the personas and user stories, and identified two main user types: Workspace Admin & Account Admin.

We also defined the jobs to be done, including capabilities to invite, disable, and remove users effectively.

Solution

The implementation of the admin project involved close collaboration with architects and the development team.

The project aimed to bring user management closer to the users, ensuring a seamless experience.
